Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026. These Terms govern your use of Carriers First dispatch services. By engaging us, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Carriers First provides truck dispatch, load sourcing, rate negotiation, billing support, factoring coordination, and after-hours dispatch coverage to owner-operators, small fleets, and mid-sized carriers. We are based in San Fernando, California.
2. No long-term contracts
We do not require long-term commitments. You can stop using our services at any time, for any reason, with no cancellation fee. We earn the week, every week.
3. Fees
Our fees are transparent: 6% of gross for dispatch only, or 8% of gross for dispatch plus billing and factoring support. There are no setup fees, no monthly minimums, and no add-ons. Fees apply to loads we source and dispatch on your behalf and are deducted at settlement or invoiced separately, depending on your factoring setup.
4. What we do for you
When you engage Carriers First, we source loads from our broker network, negotiate rates on every load, book freight and handle rate confirmations, track your trucks from pickup to delivery, coordinate detention, layover, and lumper claims, provide a dedicated dispatcher who knows your operation, and offer 24/7 phone coverage from our dispatch desk.
5. What you do
As a carrier working with us, you agree to maintain your own active MC and DOT authority, carry required insurance coverage (auto liability, cargo, and general liability), operate equipment that meets DOT safety standards, communicate promptly about delays, breakdowns, or schedule changes, and pay invoices and fees per agreed terms.
6. Equipment
We dispatch dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, and sprinter van equipment. If you operate specialized equipment outside these categories, contact us first to confirm fit.
7. Brokers and shippers
We source loads from third-party brokers and shippers. Once you accept a load we book, your relationship with the broker or shipper for that load is governed by their rate confirmation and terms. We advocate for fair rates and timely payment but are not a party to the underlying freight contract.
8. Liability
Carriers First acts as a service provider, not as a motor carrier. You retain full responsibility for the safe operation of your equipment, compliance with traffic and safety laws, cargo handling, and timely delivery. We are not liable for damages arising from cargo loss, accidents, traffic violations, or carrier-side delays.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the 90 days before the event that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Disputes
Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If that fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in the State of California under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. These Terms are governed by California law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. We will let you know of material changes by email or phone. Continued use of our services after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact us by phone at (747) 888-0118, by email at carriersfirstinc@gmail.com, or by mail at 255 Parkside Dr., San Fernando, CA 91340.
